Zoopharmacognosy - Self selection

SamoVila offers consultations including a thorough and holistic assessment of your animal, either in person or via email (full information required). An assessment can take anything from 1 hour to 2.5 hours, depending on the complexity of the case and the reception of your animal. It is vital that you provide as much information on the history of your animal as possible - the more information the better!

During the assessment your animal will be offered various herbs, essential oils, powders, clays etc in accordance with the principle of Zoopharmacognosy (the ability of animals to choose their own remedies) and the choices and amounts will be recorded.

​

​Based on the assessment and the information provided, recommendations about herbal supplements and/or other therapies like the use of aromatic plant material such as essential oils etc will be made in order to achieve a balanced well being of your animal. This can also include creams, salves and baths as well as referrals to other veterinary and/or other holistic practitioners and related specialists.

​

Any recommended supplement and/or other product will be made specifically for your animal – they are individual and tailor made and there won’t be any ‘one size fits all’ tubs and pots!

I am more than happy to liaise with your vet and discuss the case and case history with them in order to achieve the best support for your animal.

Any veterinary reports, scans, x-rays etc should be emailed prior to assessment to SamoVila17@gmail.com together with the contact details of your vet.

Location

​

I prefer to visit you and your animal at the comfort of their home, yard or farm as this is the place where they are most at ease. However, if this is not possible we can arrange an initial consultation via video call, phone call or via email.

​

SamoVila has a very large range of herbs to chose from. All plant material including herbs, roots, seeds, extracts, tinctures, clays and essential oils used are continuously cheked to ensure the best quality ingredients. My suppliers have many years of experience and are established suppliers of many large as well as small herbal supplement manufacturers for humans as well as animals, in particular horses.

Please note that I do not sell single herbs and essential oils unless these are part of the consultation for your animal.
